This is obviously the first of (hopefully) many entries. Let’s start with the basics, I’m a soon-to-be college student who will start her first year of college in a month. Wow, that’s scary. I’m a very boring person. This is why I have very insane but awesome friends to keep me entertained. Now let’s get on with the post, since LiveJournal is being a butt and is currently unavailable.

Today was a very bad day for me. Today was my road test and I failed. The reason? Double stop signs. Despite the efforts to not screw up that section of the test with my driving instructor–I still missed it. A mixture of nervousness and a tree that was blocking said stop sign didn’t help me. I felt sorry for myself for the first few hours after I came back home. My dad was slightly annoyed, but he wasn’t really angry at me. My mother was much more sympathetic, since her side of the family is plagued with failures on the road test. It’s proof that I am my mother’s child and was not mixed up with some other baby at the hospital.

To understand the situation, I should give you some background information. My mother failed her road test because she went over the speed limit and according to my uncle she ran into a stop sign. Not to mention it was also winter when she took hers, and winters where I live are brutal. My maternal uncle failed his test twice. My brother failed his the first time because he couldn’t figure out how to use the emergency brake and he somehow got stuck in neutral. So much for breaking the curse with me.

Two of my friends helped me cheer up and after being emo for a few hours. Surprisingly, my mom even helped me feel better with some stories of her friends failures on the road test. The best one is one woman she knows that failed hers six times. SIX TIMES! I’m ignoring the fact that said woman is old and doesn’t understand English very well, but it helped me feel better.

Later tonight, I decided to take my anger out using colored pencils, highlighters, and Sharpies. Please excuse my lack of artistic skills.
