Milking it for all its worth
There is a problem in Hollywood. If a film is a huge hit, then most likely the studios will feel a need to milk it as much as possible with sequels (theatrical or direct-to-DVD), merchandising, TV spin-offs, and whatever else that they can think of to profit off of.
The biggest perpetrator of this would be [...]

Gripes about the Food Network
So much for blogging everyday. I knew that writer’s block (and general laziness) would hit eventually, despite having multiple ideas written in a notebook. Moving on.
After watching little to no TV since Heroes had its season finale (and my roommate taking the TV with her when she moved out after fall semester), I have been [...]

Foreign film fans! I bring you wonderful news!
The My Sassy Girl remake will be a direct-to-DVD release, thus saving us (and the original film) the agony and humiliation. I just hope this ends up into obscurity and no one will ever know that it ever existed.
I suppose whoever the powers that be in the studio [...]

I’m a pretty big fan of superheroes. Although, I haven’t been an avid comic book reader, thankfully animated series of these comic book heroes proven to be pretty loyal to the canon plotline.
If anyone was able to decipher the babble from my Batman post a while back, I’m pretty sure you can tell who my [...]

Call me old fashioned
As I reminisce my childhood, I noticed something very tragic. Most — if not all — of the animated movies and cartoons are no longer hand drawn.
Now most animation is CGI. I don’t mind animation that looks cartoonish made in a computer, but something about striving for the most realistic images bugs me. Despite how [...]

a stupid, irritating, or unattractive person
an intelligent, but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit
a foolish, inept, or unattractive person
a person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits, but is felt to be socially inept
Why is being called a nerd a bad thing? That’s [...]

As a psychology major and aspiring child psychologist, I have one thing to say about Dr. Phil. I hate the idiot.

There’s this little thing about buying things that are for your entertainment. Specifically, in CD or DVD format. Special editions, director’s cuts, repackaging, deluxe editions, whatever you call them!
Now obviously, any sort of hardcore fan of whatever fandom it is will be more willing to pay the extra money for these editions. However, there is [...]

The price of an idea
I recently bought a Moleskine notebook. A simple black oilcloth notebook with lined pages, an elastic closing band, and an attached ribbon bookmark. About $15 including sales tax at my local Borders.
If anyone has known me long enough, I really like notebooks. Not the cheap one-subject ones at Staples, but the really nice notebooks that [...]

How does one act Asian?
Stereotypes are most annoying thing in any society no matter your race, gender, sexual orientation, social status, whatever. Unfortunately, if you are in a racial minority, stereotypes like to bite you in the ass more often than not. In my case, I have to deal with stereotypes directed towards Asians and Asian-Americans.
The most common ones [...]
