It just can’t be avoided anymore
I’ve been kinda avoiding doing this entry for a long time now… mostly for the sole reason that I will finally have to except the fact that Hollywood once again destroyed another Asian film. A GREAT Asian film. My Sassy Girl. Well, the trailer has been leaked onto YouTube for quite awhile and it’s finally time for me to bash it.
Oh the humanity! They made The Girl look as if she is mentally unstable! I mean, in the original version she is a bit crazy (and a little violent) but it’s more charming and adorable. The movie is called My Sassy Girl and in the original The Girl is sassy, but the destroyed Americanized version just kinda crossed the line between sassy and crazy.
The people behind the remake appear to be… well known for crap movies or movies no one has ever heard of. Doug Davison is the executive producer and his resume consists of The Eye, The Grudge, The Lake House, and The Ring… all of them remakes of Asian films and every single remake was crap. And I don’t even know most of the movies that the other producers and whatnot have been involved in.
This movie is already doomed because of the fanbase the original has was already against it in the first place.
