Movies I look forward to seeing
I’m a movie buff. I like to think of myself as a different type of movie-goer that only goes for the hell of it (read: I r movie snob). I think taking cinematography in high school only made me more of a film snob.
I just hope my wallet isn’t entirely too angry with me with [...]

And I want my scalps
Before going on with the review, the trailers for Inglourious Basterds were not what the film was about. In fact, it revealed very little about what the film was about. I was expecting something along the lines of a film about a bunch of vigilantes killing Nazis, which is what the film is about sort [...]

I went to the midnight premiere of Watchmen. And because only one theater was playing it at midnight, that meant my friends and I had to drive for 45 minutes just to see a movie and we didn’t really get back to campus until 5 AM after a stop at Denny’s. That meant we were [...]

Who watches the Watchmen?
Tomorrow night/Friday morning, I’m going to the midnight premiere of Watchmen with friends as a last hurrah before spring break. Needless to say, sleep is overrated and tomorrow night is going to be epic win! Caffeine, sugar, and more caffeine will be our life source that night and the next day when we have early [...]

Oh what the hell, Academy!?
In recent history, the Academy has been… very disappointing with their ability to give awards to films that truly deserve it. It’s even worse when movies that deserve nominations are completely ignored. Case in point: The Dark Knight.

It is written
I went to go see Slumdog Millionaire after a failed attempt yesterday when the only time slot I could go was sold out. Who would have thought a small and relatively unknown indie film would be sold out… then again, it was New Years and apparently everyone in the county wanted to go to the [...]

I’ll keep this brief but I knew that a remake of Oldboy was going to happen. What I didn’t expect were the two least likely people to direct or star in the film. Those being Stephen Spielberg and Will Smith respectively.
I’m not really sure how I feel about this. Oldboy is a very sick film. I [...]

Damn you, viral marketing!
It’s been nearly a week since The Dark Knight has been released and my sanity levels slowly drop every day when I have yet to see the movie. It wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for the damned viral marketing to bring the massive hype concerning the film. And from what I hear from [...]

Evil marketing scheme of Disney
I love Disney. I grew up with Disney films and TV shows. Now the TV shows kind of suck at the moment, but I’m somewhat comforted by the fact that most TV shows for children kind of suck as well.
However, along with my gripe with Disney milking all of their films/franchises for all its worth [...]

Milking it for all its worth
There is a problem in Hollywood. If a film is a huge hit, then most likely the studios will feel a need to milk it as much as possible with sequels (theatrical or direct-to-DVD), merchandising, TV spin-offs, and whatever else that they can think of to profit off of.
The biggest perpetrator of this would be [...]
